I’ve been wanting to get into tripod rifle shooting for a while now but refuse to spend the money on the hardware. Here’s my take on a ball mount.
The tension collar (purple) will be secured with long M6 bolts, washers, and wing nuts. The initial rifle mounting solution will be a PVC pipe saddle, then I’ll work in some other users’ clamp designs following the ball mount function testing. When I upload the file pack for download, it will include every part as a separate item so mounting interfaces can easily be modified.
The tripod mounting interface is the area I’m most concerned about stress fractures occurring in, so any input is welcome.
