Could I just cut my rails separate like this?

I’ve got a PY2A frame with a non PY2A rear rail, the rail won’t fit because it’s too wide where it would wrap around the trigger housing. Could I just cut it like so and have them be side panels? Or should I just wait until PY2A rear rails are available?
